📅 OCTOBER 6, 2024 — THE MOMENT EVERYTHING CHANGED
Guruprasadam: A Journey of Love and Service
Some moments leave an indelible mark on our hearts, shifting our perspective forever. For me, that moment came on my birthday, October 6, 2024. What began as a simple plan to donate food to an orphanage in Pondicherry took an unexpected turn when a friend suggested we stop at JIPMER Hospital first. That single decision changed everything.
Outside the hospital, families from nearby villages sat patiently under trees, waiting for news of their loved ones. Their silent endurance spoke volumes. As we watched, a tempo traveller arrived, and in an instant, a line formed. Volunteers stepped out, setting up tables and serving fresh meals to pregnant women, elderly caretakers, and anxious children. The air, once heavy with uncertainty, filled with relief and gratitude.
I learned this act of kindness had been carried on for decades — unshaken and selfless.
Inspired by their devotion, the name “Guruprasadam” surfaced in my mind — a vision of food served with love, dignity, and devotion.
Guruprasadam is more than a meal; it is a message of compassion, a quiet assurance that no one is alone in their struggles. I hope it becomes a movement, bringing people together in kindness and reminding us all of the profound power of giving.
